Like our other programs, Face of Today builds its vision of helping young entrepreneurs achieve success through various means and as such, the microfinance revolution aligns seamlessly with this aspiration. The Face of Today microfinance program LIVING THE DREAM has established a strategic partnership with Opportunity International Canada. This partnership benefits our goals of bettering the lives of young entrepreneurs on an international scale.

What is microfinance?

Today, microfinance institutions are at the forefront of reaching the most destitute populations around the world. Microcredit loans encourage economic growth in the most remote regions not reached by traditional means of charity. Microfinance institutions provide loans as well as banking, insurance and other financial services that allow poor entrepreneurs the ability to start or expand a business, generate income, provide for their families, and create jobs for the community. Microfinance is a hand up, not a hand out.

Our partnership

Opportunity International Canada is a recognized charitable microfinance enterprise with operations currently in Colombia, Peru, Rwanda, Ghana and Mozambique. Established in 1997 and part of the Opportunity International Global Network that has been operating since 1971, Opportunity International commands more than 35 years of experience in providing ‘affordable access to financial services to the entrepreneurial poor’ by way of microfinance.

Opportunity International is the perfect partner with which to realize our ambition: helping young entrepreneurs achieve success. Our role in the partnership is unique. With Opportunity International in the field, financing those who need it the most in impoverished countries, Face of Today is financing Opportunity International with annual donations to music-related causes.

Face of Today has been given the opportunity to provide hope for those living in poverty in the city of Cartagena, Colombia. These individuals and groups include the underprivileged who live in rural and urban areas of Cartagena.
