New Opportunities, New Success Stories.

Face of Today is proud to announce its new partnership with the Boys Club Network. The Westcoast Boys Club Network Foundation (BCN) is a registered Canadian charity tackling one
of contemporary Canada's most misunderstood and underfunded social issues: high-potential Canadian boys and young adults who, through mere circumstance and lack of positive role models are losing their way. Through the foundational principles of connectedness and a proven curriculum of H.O.P.E. - Hope, Opportunity, Positive mentorship and Education, BCN helps turn at-risk boys into good men.

The formula is a simple one, based on foundational principles of establishing connectedness, trust, and accountability – Boys Club Network.

Founded in 2007, the Boys Club Network works together with school districts in East Vancouver, North Vancouver, West Vancouver and Abbotsford, and is expanding to Vancouver Island, the Okanagan and Kootenays. Face of Today is proud to announce the donation of $10,000 to Boys Club Network. They plan to use the funding to help pay for their touring play and to support special outreach programs associated with network growth.

We are excited to partner with Music Heals, a music therapy program in Vancouver. After the completion of our new recording studio, we have expanded into working with kids to give the opportunity to record and make their own songs. Recently pairing with music therapist Katherine Graff, kids from Semiahmoo House Society worked with producer Krev Mack to produce some of their very own hit singles. Kevin Williams Productions made this experience possible for all of the kids by keeping the studio running to allow each child learn their full potential and express optimal creativity.

With our recording studio up and running, we have invited youth from HEROS and Boys Club Network to show off their music skills. Our volunteers have worked one-on-one with the youth helping develop their talent on the computers and inside our recording vault. Jamming out, making new friends and gaining valuable new skills have helped shape their lives for the better. Our music studio provides a safe space for youth to come and relax while enriching their growing minds.

Summer has come to a close in Vancouver, marking another successful year at the Face of Today Wakeboard Camp in Osoyoos. We were very pleased to work with HEROS (Hockey Education Reaching Out Society) again to bring along five kids from the Vancouver and Sunshine Coast programs. Our wicked weekend on the water started off with a bang after arriving on Friday afternoon at Nk’Mip Resort to set up camp. On the boat for the rest of the evening, the kids learned the basics on how to get their balance and stand up. With the help from the amazing coaches through Wake Pilot camp, the kids got to sharpen their skills, gaining confidence both on and off the water.

My family and I don’t always get away during the summer, so it was great to be invited on a weekend trip. The resort we stayed at was nice, the food was great, and getting to try wakeboarding in a brand new boat was totally awesome.

-Kodi. Participant.

With a total of 16 hours on the boat for the weekend, each participant got an amazing amount of time learning from some of the best coaches and enjoying the beauty of Osoyoos. Evenings brought around team building activities in the cabin and of course- roasting marshmallows and making s’mores! Thanks to your donations, this weekend was possible. The kids thank you for your generosity and giving them the chance to seek adventure and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Getting the kids out of their comfort zone and out on the water building their self-confidence is what we love to see. Witnessing their transformation from day one to the last hours of the weekend reflects their growth and self-realization that they are capable and confident beyond what they originally thought. We couldn’t be happier to have helped change the lives of five amazing kids. - Norm Flynn, Founder of HEROS.
